The erfal foundation
The history of erfal includes three decades of continuous development, innovation, expansion and diversification. These were the factors, which made the company successful and it should remain like this. The philosophy was always to improve the achievements and make them sustainable for the future. This also means gratitude to the employees and the guides of this very positive development.
Since the beginning, Jörg Erler as the owner of the company has been assumed a high responsibility for the fate of the company, its employees and the region. In the awareness of this situation he has dealt extensively with the possibility of an independent and effective securing of the future of the created values. An acceptable result for Jörg Erler could only be: the company erfal continues its successful path as an unit in Falkenstein.
Because of this, he has devolved, by the 31 December 2013, his total ownership shares on the company erfal to the erfal foundation with its place of business in Falkenstein. Since 2014 the new owner is the erfal foundation. Jörg Erler is at the moment the sole director. Since now, this is a unique model in the region, that permanently secures the existence of the company and with this the jobs.
The focus point of the foundation lies on the conscious acceptance of social responsibility for the region. Next to the focusing on the security of the company, the foundation wants to be an innovator for the business location Vogtland and supports regional non-profit projects through financial supports, donations or sponsorships. Thus, the erfal foundation prize was initiated. A total budget is annually evaluated for the erfal foundation prize. There is no fixed number of awards which can be given.
Applicants can be associations / institutions or private persons of the Saxon Vogtland. The application must clearly show that the focus lies on the non-profit status, children and youth promotion or rather the regional offspring.
Eligible for the funding are projects from all conceivable spheres of life, such as culture & arts, sports, social affairs, public & municipal, or even private. Important for the foundation is a sustainable effect, an unique position and a significant explanation of the feature of the application content.
The selection board is the foundation’s board, which consists of Michael Barth (managing director of the IHK Plauen), Sören Voigt (member of the Saxon Landtag) and Bert Blechschmidt (private banking consultant)
