Black-out/ dimming
As an alternative to roller shutters, rooms can be darkened by special fabrics on interior sun protection products. These dimming and black-out fabrics offer a reliable light absorption and exclude the majority of the incoming sunlight. Distinctions are made between black-out fabrics with a light absorption of nearly 100% and dimming fabric which can allow a minimal incidence of light.
FABRIC RECOMMENDATIONS
Perlex®
Sun protection fabrics equipped with Perlex® are distiguishable by a pearly, reflecting coating on the reverse side. Perlex® fabrics have an especially high light reflexion, are resistant against condensation, the dirt of insects and alkaline substances.
FABRIC RECOMMENDATIONS
Vaporized with aluminium
Fabrics vaporized with aluminium show a silvery coloured metal coating on the reverse side. These fabrics have a high reflection and consequently a reduced passage of sun energy and a lower light permeability. Fabrics vaporized with aluminium on the reverse side are especially developped for the project sector and offer the best shading values.

Cradle to Cradle® (sustainability)
Cradle to Cradle® describes the way of production "from cradle to cradle". It works along with nutrient cycles in order to preserve created values for people and environment. Cradle to Cradle® is destined to achieve an awarded environmental tolerance because no other substances are added to the used material, e.g. maize starch. After their first use, the fibres should be melted down and then reused as raw material for other products.

Fire protection classifications A2 (non-flammable) and B1 (hardly inflammable)
In Germany, the fire protection regulations for projects are regulated in the building code of each federal state. The legal requirements are valid for the entire public sector. According to DIN 4102 B1, only materials that are hardly inflammable can be used. For escape routes, according to DIN 4102 A2 only non-flammable fabrics can be used. Non-flammable fabrics as stated in the fire protection classification DIN 4102 A2 are mainly made of materials which cannot be lighted and which is therefore not combustible. These are generally glass fibre fabrics. They have to be conceptually distinghushed from hardly inflammable fabrics as stated in DIN 402 B1. In case of a fire, they do not catch fire at once and delay the fire spreading out.
